The name

Tiziri ⵜⵉⵣⵉⵔⵉ

The Tamazight word for moonlight: the light you see the Sahara by after dinner, when the fire is low and the dunes turn silver. For us, the whole point of going: the hours nobody puts on an itinerary. We chose it because the desert at night is the moment guests remember, and because the language is ours.

A letter from Ayoub

Dear traveller,

It started in 2020, in Marrakech, the strangest year to open a travel company. The borders were closing, and we were learning every bend of the road to the Sahara. When travellers came back, they came to people who knew it by heart. Six years later we have welcomed more than 10,000 of them, and we drive 21 vehicles of our own.

I kept meeting people who had saved for years to see the Sahara and got a rushed sunset and a cold tent. Morocco Tiziri is my answer: the same road, done properly, by people who know it.

Why we exist

Because the group tour was not good enough.

Most desert tours from Marrakech are the same product resold by different websites: a minibus, a fixed timetable, a camp chosen by price, and a driver you meet at seven in the morning and never see again. It works, and we still run a version of it for travellers who want the lowest price.

But we kept meeting people who had saved for years to see the Sahara and got a rushed sunset and a cold tent. Morocco Tiziri exists for them: the same road, done properly, with people who know it.

How we work

Everything you see on this site, we run ourselves.

We are a licensed Moroccan tour operator, not a reseller. The driver-guide who picks you up works with us, the 4x4 belongs to us, and the riad and the camp are places we have slept in and go back to. When something changes on the road, the person who answers your WhatsApp is the person who can fix it.

  • Make you pay before we have confirmed the dates.
The part nobody writes

What happens if something goes wrong

The vehicle breaks down

If a 4x4 stops, a replacement leaves Marrakech or the nearest base immediately. You never pay for lost time, and if a night is lost, we refund it.

The riad or camp is not what we promised

Tell your driver or your planner that evening. We move you the same night when we can, and refund the difference when we cannot.

Someone falls ill

Your driver knows the nearest clinic on every route and stays with you. We help with a doctor, your insurer and a re-plan of the days you miss.

Weather closes the pass or the dunes

Snow on the Tichka or a sandstorm at Merzouga happens a few days a year. We re-route or refund the affected night.

You need to cancel or move dates

Shared tours and all day trips: free up to 24 hours before. Private tours: up to 7 days. Elite journeys: up to 20 days.

You cannot reach us

You will: one WhatsApp number answered every day from 8:00 to 22:00, and the driver's own number in your pocket.
