What it is
A small camp placed away from the others, with tents you can stand up and walk around in, real furniture, a bathroom with a proper shower, and a terrace where tea appears when you sit down. Dinner is in the dining tent or, on Elite journeys such as Sahara by Moonlight, on a dune by lantern light with musicians. Arrival by 4x4 for those who skip the camel; the camel is there for those who don't.

To be honest
- Even the best camp is a camp: sand gets in, water is precious, nights are cold in winter. Heating in tents. Wi-Fi — most Elite guests are glad not to have it.
