Three days from Marrakech to Fes by way of the Sahara, just you and your driver-guide. Cross the High Atlas, visit Aït Ben Haddou, follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the Dades, walk in the Todra Gorge, ride a camel into Erg Chebbi and sleep in a luxury desert camp, then cross the Ziz Valley and the cedar forest of the Middle Atlas to Fes.
Day one: the pass, the ksar with time, the kasbah road, a riad in the Dades Valley. Day two: the gorges at your pace, then camels into Erg Chebbi and the luxury camp.
Day three: the Ziz Valley, Midelt, the cedar forest, Ifrane, Fes by early evening — your riad's gate, a porter for the bags.
Volubilis on day three is possible only with a dawn departure; better as a separate day from Fes, which we can arrange.

Pick-up at your riad or hotel at the time you choose: 07:00, 08:00 or 09:00 (07:00 or 08:00 recommended). Over the High Atlas, with photo stops in Berber villages. Lunch in Aït Ben Haddou and a visit of the kasbah with a local guide. A short stop in Ouarzazate and its film studios (inside visit optional), then the Valley of the Roses to the Dades Valley. The "Monkey Fingers" rocks today or tomorrow morning.
After breakfast, a viewpoint over the palm oasis and kasbahs of Tinghir, then the Todra Gorge, carved by its river up to 300 m deep. In Merzouga, your luggage goes to the camp by 4x4 while you ride a camel into the dunes for the sunset. Drums, stories and stars at the camp.
Sunrise over the dunes and breakfast at the camp, then back to Merzouga by camel or 4x4. A viewpoint over the palm groves of the Ziz Valley, the cedar forest of the Middle Atlas and its Barbary macaques, and a coffee break in Ifrane. Drop-off at your riad or hotel in Fes in the late afternoon.
